Having taken a leap ahead of the new year to move away from the automotive industry they’d worked in for more than 65 years and put all their efforts into their emerging mining, quarrying, and agricultural efforts, Roylances Tractor Replacements looked to 2020 as a great opportunity, but like much of the world, were impacted by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the challenge they have worked tirelessly to establish their new operation, and in late March, revealed they would become the Kubota dealer for the Forbes region, and whilst that relationship is still in its formative stages, anyone who has driven past the Sam Street Forbes operation in recent days would have seen a very visible signal of their latest acquisition, JCB.
Recognised globally as a leader in construction and agriculture, JCB is perhaps best known for their impressive range of backhoe loaders, with many international brands tagged JCB as the colloquial term for the machine – that features a loader bucket on the front, and an excavator bucket on the rear – such is their popularity. In operation since 1945, the British manufacturer now has factories all over the world, from the UK to North America, Brazil, throughout Asia and also Australia.
For Roylances, who have been heavily involved in the earthmoving and mining industries since 1955, they are well aware of the strengths of the product and proud to add JCB to their growing list of respected brand names.
“JCB are amongst the top three manufacturers of construction equipment in the world,” Justin Roylances explained. “There’s very few worksites around Australia you can drive past that wouldn’t feature the iconic JCB backhoe, but more than that, they have a fantastic range of tractors, excavators, wheeled loaders, forklifts.. The list is extensive, stretching to 300 different products.
“We already have some monster machines on site, with the impressive 455ZX Wheel Loader arriving first, whilst we are expecting an 8330 Fastrac tractor (one of the fastest tractors on the market) within the next couple of days. Aside from that we have received a 3CX Elite Backhoe – the 3CX being the world’s number one selling backhoe – and a 155W Wheeled Skid Steer Loader, a machine which is very versatile and perfectly suited to tight worksites.
“Overall, we’re excited by what JCB offers – they are a global organisation with a great support network around the world, specifically here in Australia – and they are committed to seeing the growth of the brand in this part of the country.
“The timing of the new arrivals is perfect given the government incentives on offer at the moment to allow farmers, trade and industry to upgrade or add to their fleet, whilst JCB CEA (Australia) are offering attractive financing options to make the purchase of a new machine as easy as possible.
“From our perspective, we’re receiving new machines every week, and working hard to build an inventory of parts and a workshop to provide service and maintenance for machines, so it’s full steam ahead, whether Kubota or JCB – it’s a very exciting time for Roylances.
“The government regulations with respect to Covid-19 have an ongoing affect on the way we are operating.” Roylance added. “We have all the necessary precautions in place, so we’re happy for people to come in and see the new JCB range, and we’re also looking to have machines available for site demonstrations too, so the local region will be seeing plenty of us over the coming months.”
